Linda and Frank Tavaszi have a long history with MarinHealth. In 1982, Linda began a 19-year career at Marin General Hospital (now MarinHealth) where, through her efforts, an award-winning west wing and a new emergency department were opened. She also helped develop Marin’s first and only cardiac surgery program, including purchasing the county’s first heart and lung machine.
Linda and Frank have also entrusted MarinHealth with their own health needs and those of their family. “We, as well as our son, have always received exceptional healthcare services from MarinHealth from heart surgery to kidney stones, from diabetes to fractured limbs,” says Linda.
Living in Marin County for 40 years, they routinely contribute to MarinHealth capital campaigns, equipment needs, programs, and events. When the time came to consider their legacy, they decided they wanted to give a planned gift to MarinHealth Foundation. “MarinHealth has been so significant for us in so many ways that we want to share a portion of our remaining assets to assure that others will have access to exceptional healthcare in the future,” Linda says.
Linda and Frank ultimately decided to leave a gift to MarinHealth Foundation through their will. They worked with their attorney to create a plan in which their son would have assets as well as MarinHealth.
Ultimately, they were inspired to make a gift because of the peace of mind that comes from funding quality care. They know that their healthcare needs will be taken care of in the future, and they “trust in MarinHealth, its affiliation with UCSF, its Board leadership, physicians, staff, and volunteers.” They know their gift will be used wisely, and they believe that “it is extremely satisfying just knowing that by making a gift now you are shaping the health of others in the future.”
